“A Great and Terrible Beauty, Book 2; Rebel Angels”

Author: Libba Bray

This took a lot longer to read than I wanted it to. But because of the fact that the book was so huge and how busy my schedule was; I became very frustrated with how little time I had to read. I really want to start and finish a few other series like: “The Rangers Apprentice”, “The Obernewtyn Chronicles”, “The Immortals”, “Maximum Ride”, “Beautiful Creatures”, ECT. So I have decided to finish this series first before turning my attention to any other series. (Just so I don’t get too over whelmed.) Turning my focus back to “Rebel Angels”, you are in for a treat. Being the second book, it took off at full speed. The first book was slow starting but since everything was already set up and the characters had their personalities, there was no hesitation. I actually liked this book a lot better than the first.

It’s Christmas break for Gemma Doyle and the rest of her Spence Academy friends. They make plans to have pleasant holiday visits with their families and attend extravagant balls. From elegant dresses to decorative hair, London is filled with sophisticated adventures for our young group. But when it comes to visiting the realms, all civilized manners and customs fly out the door. Time is running out fast. On a mission to bind the magic, they must work together to find the temple with only Gemma’s visions and a petrified mad girl as a guide. Plus the magic is running loose, and they can trust no one, not even themselves.  All their wit and bravery is put to the test in order to get past the dangerous temptations that seek to lead them astray from their mission.

The plot is thickening with more sticky situations, and enemy suspects. It keeps you on your toes the whole way.  Lots more beautiful fantasy creatures and creepy spirits are waiting inside the deadly magical realms. I am definitely looking forward to reading the third and final book.
