Great book! It is more of a mystery than
fantasy, but I thought it was good. I loved the way Anne Osterlund writes, very
detailed. I could imagine the whole scene in my head. I thought the mystery was
enjoyable, but for some people, who are masters at mystery thinking, might not
find the end surprising.
Aurelia is next in line to rule the kingdom
of Tyralt, but she would much rather be free among the common folk. Her father,
the king, naturally wants his daughter to merry for political power, Aurelia
wants to marry for love and someone in the kingdom wants her . . . DEAD! So, the king assigns Robert to investigate and
protect Aurelia, the dashing son of the kings own spy and Aurelia’s oldest
friend. As they begin to uncover the clues, their friendship turns to romance.
There are a lot of beautiful stallions,
exciting sword fights and everything else in between the action that made this
book, in my opinion, very good. Aurelia is rebellious and out spoken some
times, but it does add to her character. Everyone had a voice and was not to
flat, which was great. While I was immersed in the book it felt like I had
become Aurelia, and reading about
someone wanting to assassinate me was thrillingly scary. (Making it one of my
favorite books.) I think any girl would be able to relate to Aurelia in one way
or another. So, I would definitely recommend this book, especially if you enjoy
mysteries.
