I just finished reading “Inkheart”! It was a
great read. Although, it took me forever to finish it, I thought it was worth
it. I personally enjoyed the books theme, characters being read out of their
books. Because, I am into writing my own books right now, and the idea of being
able to read the characters out sounds cool. Cornelia Funk did a great job
making her characters unique and interesting. My favorite character was
Fenoglio, mostly because he is a writer. And Elinor for her high and feisty
temper that made me laugh out loud. Inkheart doesn’t follow one main character,
there are many, like Mo, Meggie, Elinor, and Dustfinger. It was all written in
third person, of course. If you have a lot of time on your hands, or you are a
fast reader, you will enjoy this book. The plot is not complex, but, the
problem is huge. I just had to know
what happens next! It is definitely a recommendable book in my opinion. There
is also a movie made from this book, but I will have to review it another time.
Meggie’s Father Mo, has a special talent.
Whenever he reads out loud, things and even people will appear out of their
stories and into the real world! The villains then decide to use Mo’s talent to
gain riches and power for themselves. Mo, Meggie, her Aunt Elinor, Fenoglio, and
some friends along the way, must put a stop to Capricorn and his men’s madness.
(Exciting story!)
The end was satisfying, but it also left you
wondering and wanting more. The author wrote two other books after this one,
“Inkspell” and “Inkdeath”. (I haven’t read them yet.) Again, I would definitely
recommend this book to everyone.

How does the book compare to the movie?
I love this book also, and I think you are doing a great job writing about the books, but you forgot to mention that when Mo reads things out of a book something from our world disappears into the story
I'm glad you like the book too!
I did not mention it because I didn't want to give too much of the story away.
