Author: Michael P. SpradlinI found this book to be very exciting. If you like medieval battles, knights and weapons then this is the story for you. The author wrote it in first person so it was easy for me, in my opinion, to relate to the main character, Tristan. He is 15 years old and he was raised by monks. One day the abbey is visited by the Knights Templar. Sir Thomas, offers Tristan a once in a life time opportunity to become his squire. Tristan accepts the offer but is soon swallowed up with an adventure he could never have dreamed of.
Epic battle scenes, dangerous secrets, enemy
spies and making friends along the way make the book very interesting. There
aren’t many twists or turns in the plot, but the suspense of the adventure
was enough to captivate me. My favorite character is the deadly Al
Hashshashin warrior. (Who happens to be a girl.) I love her character because
she is tough, spirited and determined. I always like to read a book when there
is a spirited young girl in it, mostly because they remind me of myself. I also
liked Robards character because he is an archer. I myself love archery, plus, I
found his role to be quite funny. I would highly recommend this book to any
one, not just because of the story, but because the author did a great job
writing it.
WARNING, this book has a cliff hanger so you
might want to have book 2: Trail of Fate at hand when you are finished. (The 3rd
book: Orphan of Destiny has not been
released yet.)
